What is the difference between woolen-spun and worsted-spun yarn?

Woolen-spun yarn is carded and air-jet or mule spun, giving a random fiber alignment, loftier appearance, and softer hand-feel. Worsted-spun yarn is combed and ring-spun, giving parallel fiber alignment, smoother surface, and more refined drape. Woolen-spun is more forgiving for hand-knitting (less splitting, more forgiving gauge); worsted-spun is better for structured garments.

How many socks can I knit from 100g of yarn?

A 100g skein of 2/26 Nm yarn knits approximately one pair of adult socks (size 38-42) at 7-9 gauge. For a longer pair (knee-high), plan 150-200g per pair. For baby socks, 50g makes 2-3 pairs. The exact yardage depends on stitch gauge and pattern; we recommend ordering 10% extra to account for swatching and any rework.

Can I order undyed yarn for hand-dyeing?

Yes. We ship undyed (greige) yarn in 1kg cones for hand dyers and small studios. Pricing is 15-20% below dyed stock colors. Minimum order 5 kg per count. Lead time 7-10 days for stock counts. Custom greige counts from 50 kg with 30-40 day lead time.
